WELDON TRUST is a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment and upliftment of communities across Tamil Nadu. Established by a group of committed social activists, our work began even before our official registration on February 4, 2009, under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. Our unwavering commitment to social justice, equality, and sustainable development drives everything we do.
Our organization was founded on the principles of compassion, integrity, and a strong desire to create a positive impact on society. The founders, a group of passionate social activists, recognized the pressing need for dedicated efforts to address the socio-economic disparities and challenges faced by marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu. Their vision was to build an organization that could effectively bridge gaps, provide essential resources, and create opportunities for those in need.
From its inception, Weldon Trust has focused on a holistic approach to development. We believe that true progress can only be achieved through the integration of various aspects of community welfare, including education, health, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability. Our mission is to facilitate equitable access to resources and services for all individuals, particularly marginalized and vulnerable communities. We aim to empower these groups through a participatory approach that involves informing, enabling, and encouraging collective action. By mobilizing communities and implementing community-based development interventions, we strive to foster sustainable livelihoods, promote public education programs, and build robust partnerships and networks.
OBJECTIVES
Weldon Trust aims to empower communities through various objectives. We focus on enhancing women's empowerment by providing skill training and supporting women's leadership. Education support programs offer resources and scholarships to underprivileged children, promoting their academic growth. Health awareness initiatives ensure communities have access to crucial health information and services, while our disaster management training prepares communities for effective response during emergencies. Environmental conservation is promoted through activities like tree planting and awareness campaigns. We also work towards bridging the digital divide through digital literacy programs and encourage entrepreneurship with support for women entrepreneurs. By addressing these key areas, Weldon Trust strives to create a sustainable, equitable, and thriving society.
Over the years, Weldon Trust has successfully launched and managed numerous projects aimed at improving the quality of life for thousands of individuals.
